Monologues

Learn how to choose, rehearse and perform a great monologue! Each student should come to the first class with a monologue. It does not have to be memorized, but they will be performing it on the first day. The Director may choose to continue working on that monologue or choose a different one for them. Students can expect two large group rehearsals with the director and two individual or small group rehearsals with the director over the course of two weeks. Each student will be responsible for rehearsing at home between rehearsals. During the last week, students will record their monologues and we will compile them into a showcase for family and friends.

Dates: January 23 - February 6

Cost: $75 - ($125 minus a $50 Covid Relief Scholarship for everyone who registers). Additional financial need scholarships are available for those who need them.

Every dollar you contribute will be matched!

This collaborative fundraising challenge has the potential of providing $150,000 or more in much needed operating support for our organizations. Participating organizations value unity rather than competition during this financially turbulent time. Inspiring, right?

Your donation will benefit these organizations:

  • The Acorn
  • ARS Gallery, Arts and Culture Center
  • The Citadel Dance and Music Center
  • Children’s Music Workshop
  • The GhostLight Theatre
  • Krasl Art Center
  • Performing Arts Workshops
  • Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra
  • Twin City Players
  • Water Street Glassworks

The Berrien Community Foundation (BCF) has a long history of supporting the arts and wanted to ensure the arts remain a vibrant part of our community. Seeing the challenges we face with the pandemic, BCF secured an anonymous donor who shared the love of the arts and brought us together for this challenge. This donor has pledged $75,000 through BCF as a challenge gift to support the Arts organizations noted above. Will you join us? Every dollar you contribute will be doubled!

Collectively, we are the beating heart of cultural enrichment in Berrien County and we need your support in continuing our respective missions.
