CMW offers scholarships for families that need financial assistance with registration costs. We want every student to have the opportunity to participate in our programs. Print out an application form, provide all information requested and mail the application with your registration form. Your application will be promptly reviewed and a CMW representative will contact you regarding the amount of your scholarship.

 

Book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, music by Stephen Flaherty, a Tony Award-winning songwriting team.

Performances are scheduled April 13, 14 & 15, 2012 at Lakeshore High School Auditorium, Stevensville.

Rehearsals take place on Saturdays at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, 2673 W. John Beers Road, Stevensville, Michigan.

Staff includes: Director Susan Withrow; Choreographer Emily Hosinski; and Vocal Director Timothy Aranyos Jr.

The production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

With its poignant story and catchy Caribbean-flavored score, Once On This Island, Jr. is a feast for the heart, mind, and soul. The highly original and theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale The Little Mermaid garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run, including Best Musical, Book and Score and won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

The show tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.
