Where everyone plays a part

CMW is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides theatrical productions for youth of any ethnic, cultural and economic background, grades 1-12 and beyond, in a nurturing, safe atmosphere of wholesome activity.  We help youth build confidence and self-esteem, while learning teamwork and the joy of expressing themselves through dance, music and drama and community service.

Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world!
The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau.
An exciting new musical featuring irresistible characters and magical music, this deep-sea pearl of a show is set to make a splash with audiences young and old. The future is bright, the future is bold, the future is The SpongeBob Musical.

There are three weeks to choose from for students entering grades 1 - 8 in Fall of 23. Choose one, two, or three weeks!

Aristocats Kids - July 17 - 21 or August 7 - 11
Lights! Camera! Action! - July 31 - August 4

All workshops will be held at Lake Michigan College in the Hanson Theatre.
Monday - Thursday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM - after a 5:30 performance

Cost for this program is $175

New This Year!

New This Year - Broadway Boot Camp!

Broadway Boot Camp is a collaboration between Children's Music Workshop and Lake Michigan College. It is a week of intensive instruction for students entering 6th - 9th grades in the Fall of 2023.

Students will work with a Director, Music Director, and Choreographer for a week of intensive study of singing, dancing, and acting culminating in a revue style performance at the end of the week. This is for students who are serious about learning what it takes to be in musical theatre!

Cost for this program is $200

SAVE THE DATE - Musical Theatre Intensive

Musical Theatre Intensive is a collaboration between Children's Music Workshop and Lake Michigan College.
