The success of each production relies heavily on the many parents/family members that volunteer each season. Below is a list of committees where we need help. Time commitments are listed when available to help you make a decision on where your time/talent would be most beneficial. Sign-ups to volunteer are done on-line through Volunteerspot.com. Links to sign-up are sent to parents after rehearsals begin. We appreciate our Volunteers!
ADVERTISING ASSISTANCE
Once posters/postcards are printed and ready: Hang posters around community and sort/distribute postcards to local area schools. The posters will be available first and can be done on your own time (within reason of performance dates). Once postcards are printed they need to be put into packs of 25 and dropped off to specific area schools. Reports to Executive Director.
PIZZA PARTY CHAIR
Make reminder calls to parents who signed up to bring pop and/or desserts, etc. Help serve food and drinks at the event. Clean up when lunch is done. This is a few hours commitment for the event; reminder calling is done on your own time. Reports to Volunteer Chair or Concession Chair.
PERFORMANCE NIGHT BOUNCER
You must arrive early at first call time. You will be responsible for checking in all volunteers ensuring they have the proper name tag. You will monitor that no one goes backstage that is not on the approved list. Also, handles disbursement of cast photos at same table. Reports to Volunteer Chair.
LOBBY DECORATING
Decorate the lobby according to performance theme and staying within cost restrictions. Lobby can be decorated the Friday evening of performance after school is let out and should be taken down at the end of Sunday afternoons performance. This job can be done independently or with a partner. Decorations are responsibility of volunteer. Reports to Volunteer Chair.
THE FOLLOWING COMMITTEES HAVE OR NEED A CHAIRPERSON
MAKE-UP AND HAIR:
Chairperson: Work with director to determine make-up needs. Notify parents through our weekly take-home note what is needed. Collect money and/or previous make-up for performers. Purchase any new make-up and supplies staying within cost restrictions. New make-up labeled and placed in baggies according to name. Hold brief meeting/instruction time with volunteer parents the Thursday evening of tech week rehearsals. Supervise parent volunteers in make-up room evenings/afternoons of performances. Many of the duties can be done on your time during the rehearsal weeks. Be available during final rehearsal week, and present for at least two full rehearsals. Volunteers will be organized by the volunteer chairperson.
Volunteers: Attend Thursday evening meeting the week of tech week. Assist in the application of stage make-up on performers before performance and for make-up recheck at intermission if needed. Reports to Make-up Chair.
STAGE CREW:
Chairperson: Oversee moving sets on and off the stage during dress rehearsals and productions. Wear basic black. Available during the full rehearsal week and performances.
Volunteers: Assist in moving sets on & off stage before and during performance. Must be able to attend 2 nights of final tech week rehearsal to learn the order of set for the show. Must wear blacks. Reports to Stage Crew Chair.
CONCESSION STAND:
Chairperson: Coordinate collection and set-up of concession goods. Arrange with local businesses for concession donations. Notify parents through our weekly take-home notes of donation requests. Set up concession tables before each performance and clean-up after each performance. Clean up Sundays leftovers and take those that can be saved to the storage basement.
Volunteers: Work the concession tables before, during intermission and after performance. Arrive about an hour before doors open to help set-up. One volunteer from each days performance will be asked to provide three bags of ice. One to two volunteers will be asked to help with final breakdown and clean-up following the Sunday performance. Reports to Concession Chair.
HOUSE MANAGER:
House Manager: Organize ushers, set-up/manage will-call and ticket sales, maintain theatre atmosphere during performances.
Volunteer-Ushers: Check tickets, assist patrons as needed in finding their seats and hand out programs. You should arrive 15 min. before doors open. You will also be asked to return to maintain the “no food/drink in auditorium” policy as guests return from intermission. Reports to House Manager.
BACKSTAGE SUPERVISION:
Chairperson: Supervise cast while offstage pre-performance, during performance and at intermission. Maintain order and quiet between scenes. Supervise simple activities that will be available in the green room. Attend all final tech week rehearsals to become familiar with the performers and show. Be available for all performances. This job could be shared by two individuals working together.
Volunteers: Assist chairperson in maintaining order as listed above. Attend one tech. week rehearsal to become familiar with performers and show. Reports to Backstage Supervision Chair.
BACKSTAGE DRESSERS:
Chairperson: Ideally, this is someone who has helped with costuming during rehearsals. They are in charge of costumes backstage during final rehearsal week and performances. Organizing and labeling bags for street clothes, keeping costumes organized, repaired, and in order. Assisting in transporting costumes to and from auditorium. Finalizing in last minute details to costumes. You will have several volunteers assisting in this process.
Volunteers: Assist chairperson in the maintaining of costumes along with dressing the performers during performances. Must be present for at least one full rehearsal during final rehearsal week. Reports to Backstage Dresser Chair.

Chairperson: Work with director to costume the show by sewing, thrift store shopping and altering clothes. Must stay within a reasonable budget. Be available for most rehearsals and work between rehearsals to ensure costuming is near completion for picture week and final rehearsal week. Assign volunteers specific jobs during each rehearsal along with any take home projects.
Volunteers: Meet during rehearsal(s) to work on sewing, purchasing, assembling, cutting and/or fitting of costumes and accessories on performers. Assist in keeping costumes organized and ready. Meet one Saturday or every Saturday, whatever is convenient for you! No need to be a seamstress! Reports to Costume Chairs.
PROPS:
Chairperson: Work with director to secure and design all props necessary for show. Notify parents in take-home note of anything that we are in need of to borrow or as a donation.
Volunteers: All parents please watch take-home for a list of items that are needed. Assist prop chairperson in the construction and/or collecting of props needed for the show. Reports to Prop Chair.
SET:
Chairperson: Work with director to design and build set for each show. Notify parents in take-home of anything needed to borrow or ask for donations. Arrange build schedule and notify parents/volunteers signed up to help with set. Organize set load-in and set strikes. Transport set to CMW build location. Help organize any set needed for summer workshops.
Volunteers: Sign up at Volunteerspot, once links are distributed, to be informed of set build dates/times. Participate by either painting, building, transporting, or tear down of set by informing the Set Chair of your skill level. You do not need to attend every build date but the more you can attend the better! Reports to Set Chair.
